Fallen Angel" Crawling Out Of Hell "
( Fallen Angel Records ) 2010.
CD - USA
Heavy/power metal/hard rock

A Fallen Angel should be a new interesting attraction/act on worldwide metal scene. They hails from upstate New York, and members from band are mainly well-known musicians, established during the years in metal community. They released in own production conceptual album, based on the fantasy epic novel, written by guitarist and producer John Cruppe. An interesting mixture of fairy taile, comics, serious artwork, and music, reminds on periods when groups/artists as a Alice Cooper, Kiss or King Diamond occupied music medias and general rock culture.
" Crawling Out Of Hell" should be a first part of imaginary trilogy, and this is undoubtly a serious project done by evident efforts. A potential buyer of band's CD will enjoy in colourful 32 pages booklet, but surely a group offers another surprises. In the other hand, on 20 pieces from album, they have introduced themselves also as a 80's influental heavy/power/hard rock act, but with presents of modern ideas and modern views. " Crawling Out Of Hell" is a serious discographical start, and we'll see what the future brings soonly...

MUZL " Unspoken "
( Muzi Records ) 2010.

CD - DENMARK

Rock/hard rock/grunge

Another band with self-produced and released album is Muzl. A Danish fellows continiously work a few years, and " Unspoken" is their actuelle full - length. A band is on therithory of pretty melodic rock/hard rock with evident grunge elements presents in its music as well. Also a 90's influences are dominate through songs, but band more or less sucesfully has showed own capabilities and original views. They have sounded as a coherent company, and offering materials posses equalizing approaches and realizations. A production maybe also are nearer to
mentioned 90's than to nowadays standards, but generally group delivers some interesting ideas. Muzl aren' t comparabile with some other well-known acts, and their album mostly satisfies.

JON MULLANE " Shift "
( Flying Disc Records ) 2010.

CD

Melodic rock/AOR - CANADA

Jon Mullane is a Canadian artist, active continiously some period. His first offering was album " The Source " ( 2007.), and during the earliest period of this 2010 year he has released privately his second offering - "Shift". This album will be released in Europe through " Escape Music" at the end of July. Actuelle album Mullane has done in collaboration with producer and co-writer, Harum Scarum drummer Creighton Doane.
" Shift" contains 10 mainly equalizing tracks with similiar appoach. Musically, Mullane is on the field of melodic rock/Aor, with also 80's retro power pop/synth pop includings as well. He reminds partly on Rick Springfield, but also on mainly USA Aor artists from 80's era.A mentioned retro touch is present in every corner of album's materials, but generally " Shift" is well-produced issue and communicate with standards of our time. Even that I can not find nothing spectacular in his offering, on the other hand Mullane performs quite solid and pleasent songs in the manner of melodic rock/aor views." Shift" is mostly recomandable album for the followers of 80's Aor/melodic rock tendencies.

BAIL " A Bolt From The Blue "
( Self - released ) 2010.

CD - HOLLAND

Stoner rock/hard rock/southern rock

Bail are newer Dutch 3 piece band. They discographically debuted with " Blood Red Stain" EP in 2008 year, and during the actuelle 2010 year a full-length " A Bolt From The Blue" looked the light of day. Bail is very promising and serious group, musically more orientire to so call American
heritage and legacy. They are deeply in stoner/hard/ southern rock field, but with strong performing capabilities and clear attitudes.
A Dutch group has introduced themselves with 10 pretty well-produced tracks. They playing in equalizing manner, and all of present song structurally had an convinceble arrangments following. " A Bolt From The Blue" as a album, is a pleasent surprise for me, and undoubtly, a Dutch fellows did a god job. Their CD is absolutelly recomandable product.

SERATED " Unforseen Distinction "
( Self - released ) 2010.

CD - USA

Thrash/death metal/metalcore

Out of USA underground metal market comes a band - SERATED. They works as a quintet, and during the this 2010 year, they have released an album entitled " Unforseen Distinction". Musically, a band has offered a raw thrash metal with some death metal additionals and also metalcore traces as well. They delivers a clear brutality and coherent playings. Judging by methods of songs threathenings, Serated are influental by the 80's and little more 90's thrash movement. A clear views and certain energy balancing through offering materials, where practically all of 11 present tracks posses a same or similiar approach. A production also associate on 90's period, but manniristically that was undoubtly a band's choice.

THE WINDMILL " To Be Continued...."
( Windmill Records ) 2010.

CD - NORWAY

Neo progressive/progressive rock

The Windmill are Norway neo progressive act. They started out in 2001 year. During the forthcoming decade, a band suffered from some personal changes. Finally, they recorded in own production a CD, entitled " To be continued...". A band has received some very positive reactions and feedbacks for its work. They have introduced themselves as a serious neo progressive/progressive rock act, with original views . We can find in 6 offering album tracks a varieties of performing and arrangments threathenings. Some traces leads to 70's period, but I can not find any certain name frome mentioned era, as a leading influence.Album opens up with a very prominent and convincenble intrumental - " Cinamon" . The begining is simply brilliant, but band followed up with equally interesting playings and similiar realizations.A mentioned arrangments could be a strong weapon, and complete materials simply needs a constant listenings. " To be continued..." is a more than a respectable discografical start for Norwegians....

THE LIDOCAINE " Voices And Noises Of Kiling Koling "
( Self - released / Two Side Moon/SLW Promotions ) 2009.

CD

Rock/metal - FINLAND

The Lidocaine are 3 piece band, hailing from Helsinki, Finland. They started out its carreare in 2007 year, and during the previous 2009 year, they released a debut, entitled " Voices And Noises Of Kiling Koling". Even that band has labelled themselves as a rock/metal/progressive act, I have to say that I didn' t find too much progressive elements in its offering. But, in the other hand they are solid rock/metal act, part time melodic, also well-trained and in many aspects oriiginal. Basically, they have sounded as fresh act who deliver strong energy. In its sound we can not find too much technical variants and solutions, and band performs its material in simply but clear and acceptable way. There are 10 present songs generally well-produced and recorded.

VIDEOSEX " Videosex' 84 "
( RTV Slovenia ) 2009/1984

CD

Electro pop - SLOVENIA

During the 2009 year, a Slovenian national record company " RTV Slovenia ", reissued a debut album of well-known Ljubljana based act - Videosex, entitled " Videosex ' 84 ". A quartet consists of 2 female and 2 male members, performed own variant of electro pop music, infected by known mainly Brit. names. A group had in its line-up a charismatic female singer Anja Rupel, and talented keyborder/aranger/author, later also a producer - Iztok Turk.Even of national, in those times Yugoslavian public expectations, " Videosex' 84" was a little better than album of avarage qualities and same realizations.Just a few songs satisfied, other were passed through uncertain mannirism. A new CD remastering unfortunatelly more associate on period of LP realization, and have nothing with standards of out time. Sadly.... Also a CD contains some repeatable elements as a LP, a 25 years before, without any additional song bonuses or technical innovations. Later on, in the mentioned 80's, Videosex partly changed its style, refreshing carreare with commercial 3rd mini LP - " Svet je zopet mlad".
Nevrtheless, "Videosex' 84" is important album for Yugoslavian 80's post new wave period. This is also a discographical begining for band, whose carreare had an important place, not only on Slovenian music scene. But, technical elements of this reeditional product could be undoubtly better....
