Post punk - SWEDEN

Another more than interesting product have important place in "Massproduktion" label catalogue. This is a compilation album of all-female post punk band Mogel. A girls from capitol Stockholm, started out its carreare in first days of punk era in late 70's. It was interesting that in those times practically only 2 tipical post punk female groups occupied European scene - The Slits and The Raincoast. Stockholm girls were national pride and joy, and during the carreare, a mentioned ladies toured around Belgium, France and Czechoslovakia too. They played more than 700 gigs, recorded one album, 6 songs MP and 2 songs released on cassete. Complete materials from past era are here on 1 CD, with additional colourful booklet and penned by historical details of band's carreare. Mogel's sound was tipical 70's post punk with lotta' hipnotical and monotonous parts, raw playings and distant messages. Some comparabilities leads to mentioned Slits group, but Mogel's approach also had something unique. Some of songs also had in those times recognizable disonant melodical trace, but other new wave tendencies are present too. There's no doubt that one part of national post punk history has received an important recapitualation, so if you're interested what was happened in Sweden's 70's era, don' t hesitate to buy this album.
